This piece is 100% handmade! By this we mean that the artisan harvested organic cotton, processed the raw material and converted in to a beautiful fabric which was then designed in to this huipil!
Huipil- (pronounced wee-peel) is a traditional garment used by indigenous women in central and southern Mexico and some countries in Central America such as; Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. It’s a loose handmade tunic that will vary in length and design depending on the region. Each region or town has a different design, pattern and can be made using different techniques
